Anybody know if Colgate has gotten an 11th game for 2017?

Seems like the 2018 games will be Yale, Furman, and Army away with Cornell at home--plus the six PL games. Which kind of puts Colgate in the same position as 2016 with four home and six away and an open date early.

Holy Cross has gotten really aggressive with their football scheduling--which I'm a big fan of. In 2019 they play two FBS teams (Navy and Syracuse).

Still only ten games on the 2017 slate.  I actually don't mind not playing the NEC or Pioneer school which might be used to fill the open date.  OTOH, if we can get a better quality opponent, then an eleventh game is fine.

I asked Vicky about an 11th game last week.  She sounded doubtful, as the options at this point are limited.

It would also be nice if they updated the future schedules page since we're into the '16 season...

Just curious... Did you get an answer about adding future schedules to the future schedules section?
I look forward to seeing you on campus soon.

Bryant outgained a good Montana State team by over 200 yards, and lost a heartbreaker 27-24 yesterday. Bryant added MSU when we dropped them. While I agree with the philosophy of not scheduling NEC or Pioneer schools if we can avoid it, I have to question dropping a home game for an open date. Or I would have preferred dropping Bryant to travel to Montana. I wonder whether Bryant would have played us in Hamilton and been willing to drop next year's game in RI.

Steve, I only asked Vicky whether we'd get an 11th game... the update to the future schedules page wasn't discussed.

Look forward to seeing you on campus as well!  I'll be back for Homecoming & the rink dedication, will look for you then.

I agree with Gate'80.  It was unfair to Bryant to drop them on short notice and we screwed ourselves.

Colgate's FB schedules have been terrible and it looks like it will continue.  The best part of the season and they are mostly away.  Unless they start getting some early season home games, they will lose the few fans who now attend in cold dark November.  Last year's home game with Lehigh for the PL championship was attended by about two  hundred people and you can see that on youtube.  That is ridiculous.  You can't have a football team that costs several millions of dollars a year and play before less than 200 people just to satisfy a few alum who are living in the past.  Colgate has to get students and more fans to the games.  You do that by having some games in good weather early.   Yesterday Utica College, a D3 program, had 1,200 at their game.  Heck, I think Morrisville gets more fans than Colgate.   Bryants not good enough for Colgate but was okay with Montana St.?  Bryant would put up a good game with Colgate and they could win it.

Good to see some arguments are evergreen.  GR, did you retype this or just cut & paste from last fall?
