Georgetown

That is a great senior class.  They will be missed!

Looks like the weather will hold up for the game tomorrow, but it is all downhill after that - winter conditions dead ahead.

So much returning talent from last year, expectations were high and we fell short on many levels.  This is a game we should win and must win; a .500 season is reputable and worth playing for!  Cannot believe the number of seniors we will need to replace.  Please tell me we will not need to wait 4 years for another kicker!  Have followed our recruit list, who are some of our best future playmakers?  We need another Quazza/Maddaluna; I like Ives, Greenawalt & Rockett...Daramy has never had a chance to break out and pauses too much with the catch to gain any ground.  Assume Holland will return and hope he will be our new Messiah!  Always excited to see what a new QB will bring, hope one of them can make an impact from Day 1.  Spring camp too far away!

Congrats to Lehigh, Beat Georgetown!

How is the scholarship era panning out for us?

I agree that we are losing some great players and it's too bad we could not have done better.  I agree with you about Daremy.  He does pause or fake before he needs to.  He should use his best asset-SPEED.  Meanwhile let's beat the Hoyas!

Gorgeous day, surprising attendance with students on break (4223, if it's accurate)...just a nice, season-ending win for the team, the seniors, the coaches, and the fans.  The youth, inexperience, or carelessness - whatever you want to call it - is evident with senseless penalties.  How do you have an illegal formation on a kickoff?  Isn't that Football 101: How to Line Up for a Kickoff?!    We stunk less this 3rd Qtr than most; finishing at .500 is good, but our league as a whole was very sub-par this season and didn't do much to help our name brand.

Like our schedule for next year; 5 home games, open at home vs. Richmond, play at FBS Buffalo (stunned them in 2003).  This year's schedule was the pits, and today was another reminder...football and hockey back to back on a gorgeous fall day with students away on break.

One more comment...I ordered nachos with cheese for the first time, and I have never felt so underwhelmed and embarrassed for Colgate (and myself) as I did when I got them.  A cut-off, 1/3 bottom portion of a Tostitos bag with their nacho chips inside.  The ladle of cheese was so large that it covered the inside of the bag and it was a complete mess.  Students or no students, anticipated fans or not, this had the makings of a circus or a county fair.  Is the hockey rink any better?!
The Future

go'gate, it really seems like those nachos put you through hell. Hope you're hanging in!!!

Very solid game for Colgate. They were just the much better team. Really incredible senior class. Not sure when was the last time Colgate had that many strong seniors on one team. Also seem to be very good guys that have established a football culture we'd be fortunate to have carried on.

Best of luck to all of the guys and thanks much for some of the greatest moments in the history of Colgate football.

Go 'gate!!!

A great afternoon in Hamilton.  G-town was a perfect way to close out the year, let the seniors enjoy their day with no stress.  Not sure if Holland will come back or not, regardless the O will need to be more cohesive than they were this year.
The Future

Why wouldn't Holland come back?

Sounds about right, actually.  Concessions at Andy Kerr have often had the "flavor" of a county fair.  Fine by me.....

Apparently it means a lot to Holland to graduate with his class.  Similar story with Borkowski on the hockey team last year... when he hurt his knee there was talk of a redshirt, he was adamant that he was graduating on time.  Of course he was able to accelerate his rehab & get back for the end of the season, so he did get to go out playing.  Think Holland is up in the air at present, deciding what to do... hope he stays.

I appreciate the bucolic charm, even with the food.  Have never come across anything like that before but wouldn't change it, either.  These upstate NY traditions are bound to make some scratch their heads!

Website says one of our best rush defense seasons in fb history.  Now if we could only improve our pass defense.  Time to enjoy some holiday cheer and some great recruiting!!!

A look back to where we were this time last year!

The Future

Thanks for the info, '83. Like that he wants to graduate with his class--says a lot about what kind of students are on the football team. Still, doesn't that mean he comes back for next year, since he is a junior? Would love to see him back for at least next year. Getting three yards on a play that shouldn't pick up anything is so important to this offense. Holland is so good at twisting and staying low to get those yards.

As for other RB's, great to see guys playing well against Georgetown. Bummed to see Wilkins get hurt again. Glad he got a few games and a few carries with his legs under him late in the season. Always fun to see that guy at the second level and how little DB's wanted to deal with him.

Right, I should have been more clear... the '18 season is the one in some question.

Lots of postgame discussion about the team's prospects for next year, divided between those who believe we have players ready to step in for the departing seniors and others who are more pessimistic pointing specifically to breaking in a new QB.  Makes for an interesting offseason...

I can't speak for all the food at the rink, but the concession stands are smaller than at Reid and not staffed properly. Two small areas for a new, improved hockey rink with sometimes long lines waiting for food between periods. At least at Reid you knew you were going to be waited on in a couple of minutes standing in line. I don't know why they didn't plan better when the architect designed the '65 Arena. BTW: hot dog was OK but hamburger was a disappointment... Sad

Tell the administration to dump chartwell who are the food service firm Colgate uses.
