I will admit I was skeptical of Fargo, a D-III coach from a successful Elmira program...but most D-I coaches come from other successful D-I schools; Colgate always seems to hire new, wannabe coaches who spread their wings at Colgate and then leave for greener pastures.
Anyone who watched the NCAA championship between Clarkson and Wisconsin must realize that Colgate cannot compete at that level. I know every 'Gate player wants to win a championship, but I would settle for a winning season year after year which is more realistic. Maybe we'll get lucky and win the RS title or even an ECAC title. What a coup that would be for the program. Baby steps...
Thrilled to see talented young women athletes choosing Colgate. I cannot imagine why recruits would not be impressed with all that Colgate has to offer, and why Clarkson and Qpac seem to be greater draws? Colgate's proximity to Canadian talent is better than most.
