Word is that Point played well last night despite the tie. I believe he faced about 50 shots against P'ton earlier in the season when we beat them at '65 Arena. Good that he's getting some experience since he will be the face of the franchise the next few years. Let's hope we have a bunch of good recruits to complement him and this years frosh.

Great game by Finn last night preserved a 3-2 win over Clarkson. Team is showing improvement. Experience facing the good teams, like Clarkson, will give them confidence and the ability to possibly get a home playoff game and maybe even a series win against the top four.

Nice win last night for the guys... first game all year where I thought we should've won by more.  Dominated the first two periods then held on in the 3rd.  Finn was great again, only goal he gave up was on a screen where he didn't see the shot.  Made a ridiculous save a minute or two later that had the Dartmouth shooter holding his head.  Hoping for the sweep, but great to see the team starting to win some of these close ones!

Zappa, you getting your butt off the couch tonight?

CR, this is your string for the men's team!  Though things are a little different since the Cornell debacle on Tuesday.  The game Friday night was lucky... our winning goal was a squibber that trickled in... this afternoon also seemed a little fluky, last couple of goals were Yale mistakes as much as anything else.  Still 4 points for the weekend, let's take it!

The sweep means it's still possible (though unlikely) that we could get a home first round playoff series if things go right the next couple of weekends.  I'd say we need at least 5 of the remaining 8 points to have a chance, the way things have gone this year who knows?

A little press from USCHO, which doesn't happen often... plenty of quotes from coach in the article as well.

http://www.uscho.com/2017/02/16/c...r-guys-with-wins-over-brown-yale/

And borrowing a few stats from my friend Zappa on the USCHO forum page, with a young team things aren't as bleak as you might think:

Last eight games 4-4
Last 10 Games 4-5-1
Scoring first 5-2-4
Leading after one 3-0-4
Leading after two 3-0-4
Opp scores first 3-15-4
Home 6-5-3 Very surprised we have a winning home record

Let's get the early goal Friday night...

Only 1 point up north this weekend. Who'd a thought it would come against nationally ranked St. Lawrence? It would be nice to get 4 points on the last weekend and Senior Night, at home vs. RPI and Union. It will be a tough slog with Union ranked #3 or #4.  We need some points to get into 8th place and a home series. I believe we are in 9th now, just behind Dartmouth and Yale.

Crushing 4-3 loss to #7 Union tonight in OT. We needed those two points desperatly to secure a home series in the first round. Not sure a win in tomorrow's RPI Senior Night game will help us much. Looks like we will be on the road to start the post-season.

Still can get to 8th, need Princeton and Dartmouth losses plus winning our game vs. RPI.  That would get us to a tie with Princeton for 8th & we hold the tiebreaker based on head to head.  Unlikely, but possible...

Last night was a great game.  The loss really hurt, but to be in overtime with a top ten team?  That wasn't happening earlier this year.  Hopefully the growth this season points to bigger things than worrying about a first round home series in the future!

Big series tonight at Princeton to extend the season. The Tigers are playing great and will be a tough out. If we play some good D and get Finn or Point to be on their game, it is possible we could come away winners. I predict a 3-game series.

Great win for Kulevich, the team and coaches over Princeton last night!

And kudos to John Painter's SID staff Kevin Noonan for an impressive and clean
home page now on gocolgateraiders.com showing the legacy of MHOC with the
backdrop of the Steven J. Riggs '65 Rink: 1000 wins, starting 1916, 87 seasons, 390 Don Vaughan wins.

Best of luck tonight.

Go 'gate!
